Capital Campaign

YMCA Camp Cherokee and the Cherokee Conservation Corps strive to preserve our legacy, while preparing our future. For years, YMCA Camp Cherokee has adapted, but maintained the long lasting traditions that so many have come to know and love. As we look forward to the future at camp, we have identified several needs. The Recreation Hall project at camp will not only provide a large indoor flex program space for campers and staff during overnight resident summer camp, but will also provide a state-of-the-art-facility for off-season programs such as retreats, weddings, and conferences.

In addition, the Recreation Hall project will provide space for a new health center, staff offices, and living quarters for full-time staff. This new modern facility will provide space to accommodate our growing camp family, expanded areas for campers to gather around the fireplace, fellowship during a rainy day, and connect through songs, games, and camp traditions – both new and old.

Taking Cherokee to New Heights

In an effort to bring awareness and support to this capital campaign, in August 2022, seven climbers representing Camp Cherokee past, present and future, completed a summit at Mount Rainier. During their training and climb, they continued fundraising for the Recreation Hall. The climb is completely underwritten, so 100% of every dollar donated to the capital campaign went towards the goal and the construction.
